I haven’t posted in quite a while, So I thought it would be nice to start 2018 with some new blog posts showcasing some of my oil sketches done in the latter end 2017 in and around Stafford .
Chinese House – Shugborough
The Chinese House in the heart of the beautiful gardens at Shugorough Hall the ancestral home of Lord Lichfield . I was taken by the view with the autumn reflections in the water and the bridge. Painted Pleinair on a smal 10×8 board

The Victorian House – Stafford Castle
I love walking around Stafford castle normally with my little West highland Millie! on one of my visits I was struck my the Victorian house visible sitting snug amongst the autumn trees.

Winters Light Walton -on -the Hill

Just before Christmas saw us having snow ! I was very excited so I took my pleinair kit to the nearby fields to do a quick oil sketch of the late afternoon light
The view is towards the nearby village Walton -on the -Hill
