I have recently been shortlisted for the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Awards, and feel privileged to have been chosen as a finalist. Whilst visiting Hampstead I also had the opportunity to create three new paintings.
What is the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Award?
The award was created by Ecclestone Art along with the Holly Bush. Generously and lovingly sponsored by The Holly Bush Hampstead, Dame Emma Thompson, Fuller’s Brewery, Women in Art Fair and Cass Art Hampstead. Supported by Lisa Gray of Flux, NoNo Chocolates, The Pure Planet Company and The Hampstead Village BID, The Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Exhibition and Award 2019’s purpose is to empower and give exposure to emerging female artists.
Each year, twenty-one artists are chosen from a competition to exhibit at the spectacular Burgh house.
The Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Awards were held at the spectacular Burgh House in Hampstead. The history of Burgh House includes occupancy by the international art expert, Dr. George Williamson from 1906-1924, in keeping with the theme of the night’s events!
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many creatively-minded people like myself, the artwork on display was incredibly varied and inspiring.
The private after party was kindly hosted by The Holly Bush Hampstead, a very apt location as it once housed the studio of the 18th century portrait painter George Romney! It was very enjoyable, being able to mingle with fellow artists and enjoy a great location simultaneously really ended my trip on a high note.
I am proud to say that I attended the event as a finalist. My work was featured in the exhibition and it can also be found on the Ecclestone Art website.
Kenwood House Paintings
As mentioned previously, I was able to spend some time admiring Kenwood House and create three new paintings! It was a great way to immortalise my visit to Hampstead and embody the success of women painters. These paintings will be available to purchase from the shop.
If you are interested in viewing my other paintings, you can also see them in the shop! I’m thankful that I got to be a part of such a wonderful and inspirational event.
